You can’t keep a good killer down, with Dexter coming back to slay again. Dexter: Original Sin is a new series that will serve as a prequel to the original, with Patrick Gibson (Shadow and Bone) playing a young Dexter, taking over the role from Michael C. Hall.
Christian Slater and Molly Brown will also star in the prequel series. Slater will star as Harry Morgan, Dexter’s father, and Brown will play Dexter’s sister, Debra Morgan.
Original Sin is set in 1991 Miami and revolves around Dexter (Gibson) as he goes from student to avenging serial killer. With guidance from his father, Harry (Slater), Dexter adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people without being discovered by law enforcement at the same time as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
The last time we saw Dexter was the 2021 limited series Dexter: New Blood. The story was set ten years after the events of the original and ran for ten episodes. Original showrunner Clyde Phillips is set to return for another round of Dexter, with him serving as showrunner for Original Sin.
The premiere date for Dexter: Original Sin has yet to be revealed.
