Disney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid animated movie gets a new poster and sequel

November 14, 2021 by Gary Collinson

Among the multitude of reveals during yesterday’s Disney+ Day celebrations was a brand new poster for Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the all-new animated adaptation of the first book in Jeff Kinney’s bestselling book series, along with word that work is already underway on the sequel, with Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules set to arrive on the streamer next year. Check out the poster here…

Greg Heffley is a scrawny but ambitious kid with an active imagination and big plans to be rich and famous – he just has to survive middle school first. To make matters worse, Greg’s lovable best friend Rowley seems to coast through life and succeed at everything without even trying! As details of his hilarious – and often disastrous – attempts to fit in fill the pages of his journal, Greg learns to appreciate true friends and the satisfaction that comes from standing up for what is right.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid sees Swinton Scott (Futurama) directing a voice cast that includes Brady Noon (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers), Ethan William Childress (mixed-ish) and Chris Diamantopoulos (Mickey Mouse).

Diary of a Wimpy Kid will premiere on Disney+ on December 3rd.
