Don Cheadle says Marvel’s Armor Wars is still in “super early” development

July 20, 2021 by Liam Waddington

With the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe now spanning across both television and films, Marvel has previously announced that the next chapter of Don Cheadle’s War Machine would take place in a spinoff series titled Armor Wars.

In an interview with Collider to promote Space Jam: A New Legacy, Cheadle offered an update on the upcoming Marvel series by clarifying that the project is still in “super early” development.

“All I know is that we’re going to go into the room in a couple of weeks and actually start trying to break the spine of the story and figure out who, what, when, and where for all of it. It’s super early in the development stages so I couldn’t even spoil it if I wanted to. I don’t know what happens.”

Although very little is known about Armor Wars in terms of plot and casting, Cheadle has previously noted that “the death of Tony Stark would play a major role in the series”. Cheadle also made a brief cameo appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier – which earned him an Emmy nomination for best guest actor in a drama series.
