Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead remake gets a new trailer and images

March 26, 2024 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its theatrical release next month, a trailer has arrived online for director Wade Allain-Marcus’ reimagining of the classic 1991 comedy Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead.

Simone Joy Jones stars as 17-year-old Tanya, who finds her summer plans to go to Spain with her friends cancelled when she is forced to look after her younger siblings after her mother jets off to Thailand on a last minute two month retreat, and the elderly babysitter she hires suddenly passes away. Check out the trailer below along with an official batch of promotional images…

Seventeen-year-old Tanya Crandell (Simone Joy Jones) can’t wait to spend the summer living it up with her friends in Spain before heading to Howard University in the fall. But when her mom (Ms. Pat) decides to head to a much-needed wellness retreat in Thailand, Tanya is forced to stay home with her three siblings instead. Following the unexpected death of their elderly babysitter (June Squibb), Tanya gets a job working for the confident and ambitious Rose (Nicole Richie). Juggling work, family, and a complicated romance, Tanya faces the responsibility of adulthood at the cost of her summer of freedom.

Featuring in the cast of Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead are Simone Joy Jones, Nicole Richie, June Squibb, Donielle Tremaine Hensley, Jermaine Fowler, Ms. Pat, Miles Fowler, Iantha Richardson, Gus Kenworthy, and Tyriq Withers.

Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead arrives in cinemas on April 12th.
