Dubious rumour suggests Marvel has found Robert Downey Jr.’s replacement for Iron Man 4

Every now and then a rumour comes along from a completely dubious source, and despite the fact it screams “made up story”, said rumour quickly starts picking up traction online. Today is one of those days…

According to reports, Marvel Studios has found its replacment for Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 4, and it will be Ty Simpkins, the young star of Iron Man 3, who’ll be donning the armor in 2019 as Tony Stark’s successor.

13-year-old Simpkins has been building a quite impressive resume with credits such as Revolutionary Road, Insidious, The Next Three Days and the upcoming Jurassic World, but to imagine Marvel would entrust him with its biggest solo franchise… well, it’s certainly a stretch.

Oh, and the fact that the original report comes from KDramaStars, who are notorious for fabricating news, means it is highly, highly unlikely that there’s so much as a shred of truth in this…
