Dune spinoff Edge of a Crysknife: Rage of Shai-Hulud to release in August

May 24, 2025 by Gary Collinson

Boom! Studios has announced that it will continue to expand the vast universe of Frank Herbert’s seminal sci-fi novel Dune this August with the release of the one-shot comic Dune: Edge of a Crysknife: Rage of Shai-Hulud, penned by Dune veterans Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson with art from Andrea Scalmazzi and Francesco Mazzoli (Dune: House Corrino).

It’s a battle of generations as Mapes’s son, Samos, launches a bold assault against Baron Abulurd Harkonnen, son of Dimitri!

To bring down the heavily fortified Harkonnen outpost, the Fremen will need a tool of unimaginable destruction…Shai-Hulud—the mighty sandworms!

Dune: Edge of a Crysknife: Rage of Shai-Hulud will be available with the following main cover by Raymond Swanland, along with variants from Juan Samu and Justine Florentino…

Dune: Edge of a Crysknife: Rage of Shai-Hulud #1 will go on sale on August 27th 2025.
