Exclusive: Listen to three tracks from the Arena of Valor score

December 22, 2017 by Gary Collinson

This week the world’s most popular multiplayer online battle arena game, or MOBA, was released in North America under the name Arena of Valor. To celebrate the launch Flickering Myth has been given three exclusive tracks from one of the game’s composers, Matthew Carl Earl of Hexany Audio. Some of Matthew’s other credits include Moonlight Blade, Iron Knight and Assault Fire to name a few. You can take a listen to the tracks below….

The mobile strategy game, created by technology giant Tencent, was first launched in 2015, but its success has largely been concentrated in China and other markets under the names Kings of Glory and Honor of Kings with 200 million registered players and over 80 million daily active users. In order to customize the game for the U.S. and European launch, Tencent built an independent team focused on tweaking the experience for each individual region. While the fundamentals of five-on-five combat remain the same, other aspects have been changed, from the art style and interface design to the sound and music. In place of characters pulled from Chinese folklore you’ll find Western fantasy heroes and even the likes of Batman and Wonder Woman.

Arena of Valor is now available as a free download on Google Play and iTunes. Tencent is also working on bringing Arena of Valor to the Nintendo Switch at a date to be announced.
