Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2 adds eight more to its cast

October 7, 2017 by Gary Collinson

As production continues on Warner Bros.’ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sequel, the official Pottermore website has announced the addition of eight new names to the cast of the latest chapter of J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World series.

The site reports that Brontis Jodorowsky (Endless Poetry) will portray Nicolas Flamel, the alchemist who discovered the Elixir of Life and originally mentioned in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. He will be joined by Wolf Roth (Holmes and Watson) as Spielman, Victoria Yeates (Call the Midwife) as Bunty, Derek Riddell (The Missing) as Torquil Travers, Poppy Corby-Tuech (Harlots) as Rosier and Cornell S. John (Captain America: Civil War) as Arnold Guzman, while Jessica Williams (The Daily Show) and Fiona Glascott (Episodes) are set for as-yet-undisclosed roles.

Fantastic Beasts 2 opens in 1927, a few months after Newt helped to unveil and capture the infamous Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald. However, as he promised he would, Grindelwald has made a dramatic escape and has been gathering more followers to his cause—elevating wizards above all non-magical beings. The only one who might be able to stop him is the wizard he once called his dearest friend, Albus Dumbledore. But Dumbledore will need help from the wizard who had thwarted Grindelwald once before, his former student Newt Scamander. The adventure reunites Newt with Tina, Queenie and Jacob, but his mission will also test their loyalties as they face new perils in an increasingly dangerous and divided wizarding world.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2 is set for release on November 18th 2018 and sees director David Yates returning alongside stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, alongside Katherine Waterston as Auror Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as her sister Queenie Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone, Zoe Kravitz as Leta Lestrange, Kevin Guthrie as Abernathy and newcomers Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore, Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander, William Nadylam as Yusuf Kama, Ingvar Sigurdsson as Grimmson, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Skender, David Sakurai as Krall, Brontis Jodorowsky as Nicolas Flamel, Wolf Roth as Spielman, Victoria Yeates as Bunty, Derek Riddell as Torquil Travers, Poppy Corby-Tuech as Rosier, Cornell S. John as Arnold Guzman and Claudia Kim, Jessica Williams and Fiona Glascott as as-yet-unrevealed characters.
