Fast & Furious 7 gets name change, banner, and trailer announcement

October 26, 2014 by James Garcia

After the shocking death of film star Paul Walker, Fast & Furious 7 came to a screeching halt in mid-production, underwent some rewrites, and was delayed from its summer 2014 release to April 2015. Now, Universal is doing all it can to ramp up excitement for the new installment and remind audiences of the fast-paced thrills that made the Fast & Furious franchise Universal’s biggest money-earning series of all time.

As such, they’ve released a new banner and trailer announcement, and given the new installment a bit of a name change. The film is now simply titled Furious 7, and the first trailer is set to debut this weekend on November 1st. Check out the new trailer announcement, a simple sizzle reel of the previous six films, below…

Directed by James Wan, Furious 7 will race into theaters on April 3, 2015. The film stars returning players Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, and Lucas Black, along with newcomers Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, Ronda Rousey, Tony Jaa, Nathalie Emmanuel, John Brotherton and Djimon Hounsou.
