Final Destination celebrates 25th anniversary with new film in 2025

March 8, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Final Destination: Bloodlines is almost here, with the film finally entering production after years of being stuck in developmental hell.

For the first time in ten years, fans are seeing a new entry in the long-running franchise, which will celebrate its 25th anniversary when it’s released next year.

Final Destination 6 is set to have Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein (Freaks) directing from a script written by Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick. Jon Watts is producing.

Producer Craig Perry wrote on social media this week: “After a long, hard slog through the pandemic and the strikes, Day One is finally in the can. 2025 will mark the 25th anniversary of the release of the first installment in the franchise. To honor the occasion with another worldwide theatrical release (in IMAX, no less) is a rare and wonderful thing.”

The producer also addressed Pet Sematary’s use of the Bloodlines title, saying, “This is the title we’ve had for three years, and we’re keeping it…for now.”

Final Destination: Bloodlines is currently set for release sometime in 2025. The plot is being kept under wraps at the time of this writing, and no cast members are attached as yet.
