February 8, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Freeform has announced that it has picked up the immigration-themed reboot of the 90s family drama Party of Five with a full series order.

The new show has been written by Chris Keyser and Amy Lippman, creators of the original Golden Globe-winning series, and follows the five Acosta children as they look to navigate family life in the United States when their parents are deported to Mexico.

The series will star Brandon Larracuente (13 Reasons Why) as Emilio, Emily Tosta (Mayans MC) as Lucia, Niko Guardado (The Goldbergs) as Beto and Elle Paris Legaspi (To My Family) as Valentina.

The original Party of Five aired for six seasons on Fox between 1994 and 2000, and featured a cast that included Matthew Fox, Scott Wolf, Neve Campbell, Lacey Chabert and Jennifer Love Hewitt.
