Hannibal’s Mads Mikkelsen and Bryan Fuller to reunite for Dust Bunny

November 2, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Mads Mikkelsen has signed on to star in Dust Bunny, the feature debut from his Hannibal director and American Gods writer Bryan Fuller.

According to Deadline Dust Bunny will tell the story of an eight-year-old girl who enlists the help of her intriguing neighbour to kill the monster under her bed that she believes ate her family.

Production on the Entertainment One and Thunder Road film is set to begin in January 2023, with Thunder’s Erica Lee saying in a statement that “We have been huge fans of Bryan’s for years. Dust Bunny is incredibly inventive and unlike anything in the marketplace and we are thrilled to help bring his first feature to life”.

Dust Bunny, which is described as “a throwback to the family horror films of the 80s” will mark Fuller’s first foray into feature film directing, having been behind ABC’s Pushing Daisies and NBC’s critically acclaimed Hannibal, where he formed a formidable partnership with Mikkelsen.

Fuller has also just signed up to showrun the Friday the 13th prequel series Crystal Lake for Peacock, while Mikkelsen’s next role will be in the eagerly anticipated Indiana Jones 5.
