Harry Styles replaces Shia LaBeouf in Olivia Wilde’s Don’t Worry Darling

September 11, 2020 by EJ Moreno

In an already stacked cast, Olivia Wilde’s upcoming film Don’t Worry Darling has added another big name. Singer and Dunkirk actor Harry Styles is joining the cast that includes the likes of Florence Pugh and Chris Pine.

Styles will replace Shia LaBeouf, who recently departed the film due to scheduling conflicts with another project. This will mark Styles’ second feature film as an actor, and follows his well-received comedic turn on a recent episode of Saturday Night Live.

Not much is known about Don’t Worry, Darling, other than the fact it takes place in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert. New Line Cinema reportedly things highly of the project and calls it a high priority after landing the rights for the film in a heated bidding war.

This is Olivia Wilde’s second film after her critically-beloved hit Booksmart, which landed her an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. Katie Silberman wrote the screenplay for Don’t Worry, Darling based on a spec script by Shane and Carey Van Dyke, who will also executive produce alongside Catherine Hardwicke.
