Haunting new trailer for Justin Kurzel’s critically-acclaimed Nitram

April 28, 2022 by Matt Rodgers

Picturehouse Entertainment has dropped the UK trailer for Justin Kurzel’s critically-acclaimed drama Nitram, the film that won Caleb Landry Jones (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri) the Best Actor award at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival.

Nitram, which we said was “executed with restraint, terror, and sensitivity” in our ★★★★ review, tells the story of events leading up to the 1996 Port Arthur massacre, one of Australia’s worst national tragedies, and also stars Essie Davis, Judy Davis, and Anthony LaPaglia; check out the trailer below….

Nitram (Caleb Landry-Jones) lives with his mother (Judy Davis) and father (Anthony LaPaglia) in suburban Australia in the Mid 1990s. He lives a life of isolation and frustration at never being able to fit in. That is until he unexpectedly finds a close friend in a reclusive heiress, Helen (Essie Davis). However when that friendship meets its tragic end, and Nitram’s loneliness and anger grow, he begins a slow descent that leads to disaster.

Nitram arrives in UK cinemas from July 1st.
