Have your ship wrecked in Our Flag Means Death Season 2 trailer

September 15, 2023 by Ricky Church

Max has released the official trailer for season two of Our Flag Means Death starring Rhys Darby and Taika Waititi.

The trailer teases the reunion of Darby’s Stede Bonnet and Waititi’s Blackbeard, the latter of whom has gone on a murderous pirate spree in the wake of his break up with Stede. As the two reunite and must confront their feelings for each other, good or ill, they must prepare for new enemies coming their way. Watch the trailer below…

Our Flag Means Death will premiere on Thursday, October 5th with the first three episodes. Following that, the remaining five episodes will be released weekly in pairs until its finale, which is set for October 26th.

OUR FLAG MEANS DEATH is based (very) loosely on the true adventures of 18th century would-be pirate Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby). After trading the seemingly charmed life of a gentleman for one of a swashbuckling buccaneer, Stede became captain of the pirate ship Revenge. Struggling to earn the respect of his potentially mutinous crew, Stede’s fortunes changed after a fateful run-in with the infamous Captain Blackbeard (Taika Waititi). To their surprise, the wildly different Stede and Blackbeard found more than friendship on the high seas…they found love. Now, they have to survive it.

Season 2 sees the return of Rhys Darby, Taika Waititi, Samson Kayo, Vico Ortiz, Ewen Bremner, Joel Frey, Matthew Maher, Kristian Nairn, Con O’Neill, Dave Fane, Samba Schutte, Nat Faxon, and Leslie Jones, alongside series newcomers Minnie Driver, Ruibo Qian, Madeleine Sami, Anapela Polataivao, Erroll Shand, and Bronson Pinchot.

Our Flag Means Death season 2 premieres on Max on October 5th.
