Hayley Atwell reprising the role of Agent Carter for Marvel’s Avengers: Secret Wars

October 9, 2016 by Gary Collinson

It’s not quite what Agent Carter fans were hoping for, but Marvel has announced that Hayley Atwell will be reprising the role of Peggy Carter – albeit in voice form – for a guest appearance in Marvel’s Avengers: Secret Wars.

The announcement was made at the Marvel Animation panel at New York Comic Con yesterday, with Marvel’s Stephen Wacker revealing that Peggy will guest star in an episode where she and Howard Stark team up with Iron Man and Captain America to battle Kang the Conqueror.

Marvel’s Avengers: Secret Wars is the title for the fourth season of the animated show Avengers Assemble, which was previously rebranded as Avengers: Ultron Revolution for its third season. The new season will feature a revamped roster for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, focussing primarily on Captain Marvel, The Vision, Ms. Marvel, Black Panther, Ant-Man, The Wasp and the Jane Foster Thor.

Since the cancellation of Agent Carter earlier this year, Atwell has stated on a number of occasions that she’s open to returning to the role, and has even been lobbying Marvel for her own solo movie.
