Hellboy footage description and New York Comic Con video interviews

October 7, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Yesterday at the New York Comic Con, Hellboy creator Mike Mignola and stars David Harbour, Sasha Lane and Daniel Dae Kim were on hand to show off a first-look teaser trailer for the upcoming reboot. Unfortunately, said trailer is “panel exclusive” and isn’t being released online (for the time being anyway). However, thanks to IGN, we’ve got a description of the two minutes of footage that was shown…

“It starts with Hellboy about to head into a crime scene when a SWAT officer shoots at him accidentally, with Hellboy yelling, ‘I’m on your side!’ From there there’s a lot of quick flashes of dialogue and action. Ian McShane, who plays Hellboy’s adopted father Bruttenholm, gives him his gun ‘the Good Samaritan.’Daniel Dae Kim’s character Ben Daimio and Sasha Lane’s Alice Monaghan, who play Hellboy’s teammates, are seen entering a “secret headquarters” in London, about which Kim says, did you expect it to say secret headquarters outside? Hellboy uses his smashy hand to smash an elevator panel. Hellscapes are glimpsed, as is Milla Jovovich’s villainous character, and it all culminates in Hellboy rising from some kind of pit clutching his flaming sword while his flaming crown floats above his head.”

Meanwhile, you can also check out a highlight reel of Hellboy’s cast at New York Comic Con here, along with video interviews with Mignola, Lane and Harbour…
