Henry Cavill says Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is “a visual spectacle” and “cinematic history”

January 19, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Next year, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment will bring together its most iconic superhero characters together on the big screen for the very first time with the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is set to introduce the characters of Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Cyborg to the world created by Zack Snyder in 2013’s Superman reboot Man of Steel.

During the BAFTA Tea Party, Mail Online caught up with Superman himself Henry Cavill, asking the British star what fans can expect from the DC ensemble: “It’s Zack Snyder, so it’s going to be a visual spectacle. And it’s cinematic history. We’re doing Batman, we’re doing Superman, and it’s all happening at the same time. So fingers crossed it turns out to be as exciting as I think it is.”

Cavill was also asked if he had any advice for Ben Affleck for his role as The Dark Knight, with Cavill responding that: “We’re talking about Ben Affleck here. I don’t need to give him any advice. The guy’s a legend, the guy does his own thing. He’s great. He’s fantastic.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice sees Zack Snyder directing a cast that includes returning Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill (Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) and Harry Lennix (General Swanwick) alongside Ben Affleck (Argo) as Batman, Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 6) as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones) as Aquaman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jesse Eisenberg (Now You See Me) as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons (The Borgias) as Alfred Pennyworth and Jena Malone (Sucker Punch), Holly Hunter (The Piano), Callan Mulvey (300: Rise of an Empire), Tao Okamoto (The Wolverine) and Scoot McNairy (Argo) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.
