Heretek expansion arrives for Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus

July 24, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Kasedo Games and Bulwark Studios has announced the release of the Heretek expansion to their turn based tactical game Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus.  The expansion exposes the dark side of the Adeptus Mechanicus faction while providing plenty of Necrons to kill.  Check out the expansion’s launch trailer below…

With a story written by Black Library author Ben Counter, Heretek will require players to uncover why the Caestus Metalican is in the midst of civil unrest.  Players will get to discover and use a new discipline, tackle new missions through the Ark Mechanicus environment, utilise new weapons and troops and take on fellow brother Tech-Priests in battle.

The DLC allows players to unlock the Xenarite Discipline, a discipline that specialises in using xenotech.  This is generally regarded as a forbidden specialisation for those who follow the Omnissiah, however, it will provide players with the option of using new augments to customise the appearance of your Tech-Priest.

There’s five new missions based in the Ark Mechanicus with any choices made having a direct impact on the battle for that mission.  To help out in battles there are two new troops to command, including the stealthy Sicarian Infiltrators and the Ruststalkers who charge in with their Transonic Blades.  There’s also new Xeno altered weapons to discover that open up devastating possibilities.

The Heretek expansion is now available for Windows PC, Mac and Linux, priced at £6.99 / $9.99 / €9.99.
