Hobbs & Shaw’s David Leitch to direct vampire action thriller Undying Love

February 1, 2019 by Gary Collinson

It looks like director David Leitch has found his next project following the upcoming Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, with the filmmaker in talks to direct the Image Comics adaptation Undying Love for Jeff Robinov’s Studio 8.

A mix of vampire mythology and Chinese folklore, Undying Love revolves around an ex-soldier who falls for a beautiful female vampire. In order for them to be together, he must free her from the curse by destroying the one who made her. Unfortunately, this powerful vampire is protected by an army of dangerous monsters in the Hong Kong underworld.

Undying Love was previously in development at Warner Bros., with both Joe Carnahan (The Grey) and Alexandre Aja (Horns) attached at various times.

Leitch – whose other credits include John Wick, Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2 – will direct the movie from a script by Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters). The filmmaker also remains attached to the video game adaptation Tom Clancy’s The Division, which has Jake Gyllenhaal attached.
