Hugh Grant ventures into horror with A24’s Heretic trailer

June 25, 2024 by EJ Moreno

A new spine-chilling psychological horror is coming from A24, and Hugh Grant is front and center for the madness as the studio has dropped the first look trailer for Heretic from writer/director duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods.

Starring Hugh Grant, Sophie Thatcher, and Chloe East, Heretic sees the two actresses face off with Grant in what’s described as a chilling cat-and-mouse game. Two young missionaries are forced to play the twisted game set up by Grant’s Mr. Reed.

“I won’t keep you if you wish to leave,” Grant tells his guests in the trailer. “But I want you to choose which door to go through based on your faith.”

The most surprising is seeing Hugh Grant in a horror film, as the actor has not appeared in the genre too often. Before his breakout role in Four Weddings and a Funeral, the actor starred in The Lair of the White Worm in 1988.

Check out the poster and trailer for Heretic below…

Two young missionaries are forced to prove their faith when they knock on the wrong door and are greeted by a diabolical c (Hugh Grant), becoming ensnared in his deadly game of cat-and-mouse.

A24 will release Heretic this fall only in theaters.
