Hugh Jackman and James Mangold in talks for another Wolverine movie

November 5, 2013 by admin

With The Wolverine shaking off a mediocre domestic run to become the second highest grossing X-Men movie globally behind X-Men: The Last Stand, it seems that 20th Century Fox are keen to reunite leading man Hugh Jackman and director James Mangold, with Deadline reporting that the studio has opened negotiations for another solo outing from the pair.

According to the report, Mangold is currently negotiating to write the treatment for Wolverine’s third solo movie, with Lauren Shuler Donner once again producing. This would mark Jackman’s EIGHTH appearance as Logan, with the star set to reprise the role again next year alongside a virtual who’s who of Fox’s X-Men universe in Bryan Singer’s hotly-anticipated sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Meanwhile, Fox also has X-Force in development from Kick-Ass 2 writer-director Jeff Wadlow, which would presumably feature Wolverine in its line-up. If so, you’d have to imagine Fox would look to bring Jackman back for a tenth time, if for no other reason than to stick another X in the title (Weapon X?).

Are you looking forward to another Wolverine solo movie? Let us know in the comments below….
