IDW announces Event Horizon sequel series Inferno

December 12, 2025 by Gary Collinson

IDW Publishing has announced that it is set to follow its Event Horizon prequel series Event Horizon: Dark Descent with an official sequel to the cult classic 1997 sci-fi horror film.

Event Horizon: Inferno will once again by written by Dark Descent scribe Christian Ward, who will team with artist Rob Carey (Aliens: Resistance) to pick up the story some 200 years on from the terrifying events of the movie.

“I’m thrilled to continue the story of Event Horizon,” said Ward. “First we told you the story about what happened before the events of the film and now we’re exploring what happened after the credits rolled. Get ready for more sci-fi, more excitement and especially more cosmic terror. There are more demons in hell and we’re only just beginning.”

Here’s a look at the covers to Event Horizon: Inferno #1 from Christian Ward, Rob Carey and Rod Reis…

Event Horizon: Inferno #1 will go on sale in April 2026.
