IDW Publishing announces Jim Lee’s X-Men Artist’s Edition

April 20, 2020 by Gary Collinson

IDW has announced that it is set to celebrate the work of industry icon Jim Lee this October as Jim Lee’s X-Men Artist’s Edition joins the publisher’s multiple Eisner Award-winning Artist’s Edition line.

“While I had intended to follow in my father’s footsteps and become a doctor, comics were always my passion, and incredibly, more than 30 years ago, I became the artist of my favorite comic book, X-Men,” says Lee. “Bringing those characters to life on the printed page was an amazing experience and while several decades have since passed, I still fondly look back on this work with great pride. Flipping through this book will, I have no doubt, rekindle lots of happy memories for me… and I hope for you as well.”

Jim Lee’s X-Men Artist’s Edition will will include the entire complete story from the bestselling comic book of the modern era, X-Men #1. Additionally, this book will include scans of gorgeous original artwork from some of Lee’s best and most iconic issues – covers, splashes, pin-ups, and interior pages – each meticulously scanned from Lee’s original art and printed at the same size they were drawn.

Jim Lee’s X-Men Artist’s Edition will go on sale in October 2020, priced $150.00.
