THR has revealed that production outfit sister (Chernobyl, Gangs of London) has picked up the film and television rights to Image Comics’ conspiracy horror series The Department of Truth from writer James Tynion IV (Batman, Something is Killing the Children) and artist Martin Simmonds (Dying is Easy).
The Department of Truth follows Cole Turner, a man who has studied conspiracy theories all his life—but never prepared to discover that all of them are true. From the JFK Assassination to Flat Earth Theory and Reptilian Shapeshifters, one organization has been covering them up for generations. What is the deep, dark secret behind the Department of Truth?
As reported by the trade, producers Elisabeth Murdoch, Stacey Snider and Jane Featherstone are looking to adapt the bestselling comic book as a TV series, with Tynion set to co-write the script. Both Tynion and Simmonds will also serve as executive producers.
