IMAX celebrating ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by screening all 20 movies

August 11, 2018 by Gary Collinson

2018 is a landmark year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Not only has Marvel Studios raked in close to $3 billion between Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp – further extending its lead as the biggest franchise of all time – but it also marks the 10th anniversary of the enormously successful superhero series.

To mark the occasion, IMAX has announced that it will be screening all twenty chapters in the MCU across its screens in North America and Canada, which includes the first ever IMAX releases for Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Captain America: The First Avenger.

The marathon will see all twenty films screened in their release order across five days beginning on August 30th, followed by two themed days – ‘Origins’ (Iron Man, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Black Panther and Doctor Strange) and ‘Team Ups’ (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Captain America: Civil War, The Avengers and Avengers: Infinity War). The final day will then see two more movies screened, decided by a fan vote.

Unfortunately for those fans in the UK and elsewhere, the Marvel Marathon appears to be limited to North America, but we’ll keep you posted if we hear otherwise.
