Is Heartstopper’s Joe Locke joining Agatha: Coven of Chaos as Wiccan?

November 2, 2022 by EJ Moreno

Joe Locke is joining Agatha: Coven of Chaos, but who will the young actor play?

It’s reported that Locke will star in the series, which will serve as an extension of the universe set up in WandaVision. Deadline notes that “Locke’s character and plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources describe the character as a gay teen with a dark sense of humor.”

That brief character synopsis caused many fans to begin the guessing game, which led to speculation about Locke starring as Wiccan. In the comics, Wiccan, Wanda’s child with Vision, is known as an out-gay character. He entered a relationship with Hulkling, and their coupling is one of Marvel Comics’ most LGBTQ-friendly storylines.

With Locke’s previous work and his already pitch-perfect humor, he could easily fill the role of Wiccan in a series where Wanda is once again dealing with her strange family and the evil Agatha Harkness.

Locke joins Kathryn Hahn and Emma Caulfield in the cast Agatha: Coven of Chaos, the Disney+ spin-off series focused on Hahn’s Agatha Harkness.

Joe Locke is best known for playing Charlie Spring in the Netflix series Heartstopper, for which he received Children’s and Family Emmy Award nominations.

Agatha: Coven of Chaos is set to air on Disney+ at some point next year.
