Jack Black is considering School of Rock 2

March 24, 2024 by EJ Moreno

School of Rock made an impact on pop culture, and fans have been clamoring for a sequel for years. And, while there’s still no official confirmation, Jack Black seems more open to the idea now than ever.

In an interview with JOE, the actor reveals he has thought about a sequel but brushes it off in his signature jokey style. “I wish there’d be a School of Rock 2: Electric Boogaloo,” said Black.

This isn’t the first time the conversation of a School of Rock sequel has arisen. Black teased a sequel but backed away from the idea in later interviews.

In 2003’s School of Rock, Black played Dewey Finn, a substitute teacher who forms a band with misfit kids he meets while teaching. The film later inspired a Broadway musical adaptation and even had talks of a TV sequel. If a sequel were to happen, the children in the first film would be adults now, which would mean we’d see a whole new generation of little rockers.

Are you excited about a possible School of Rock sequel, or is it best left as a one hit wonder? Reach out to Flickering Myth via our social channels and let us know your thoughts…
