Jamie Bell developing Jumper TV reboot

August 28, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Jamie Bell is teaming with writer-director Julian Simpson (Doctor Who) to develop a small screen reboot of the 2008 film Jumper, which was itself based upon Steven Gould’s novel.

The series is being produced by Studio Canal, New Regency and Lionsgate and follows a teenager with teleportation abilities who suddenly finds himself in the middle of an ancient war between those like him and their sworn annihilators. Bell may potentially reprise his role from the film, which saw him starring alongside Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, Samuel L. Jackson and Diane Lane.

In addition to the Jumper reboot, YouTube Red has also placed a series order for a Jumper sequel entitled Impulse, which has the movie’s director Doug Liman attached. Both projects are separate from one another.
