Jessica Biel to lead Limetown series for Facebook Watch

October 9, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Following on from her Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated role in The Sinner, Jessica Biel has signed on to executive produce and star in Limetown, a series based upon the popular podcast of the same name.

The series, which has received a ten-episode order from streaming platform Facebook Watch, will see Biel portraying Lia Haddock, a journalist for American Public Radio who sets out to unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of more than 300 people from a neuroscience research facility.

Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie, creators of the podcast, are set to write the series, as well as executive producing with Biel through her Iron Ocean Productions company and Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg of Midnight Radio.

The Limetown podcast pulled in over 10 million downloads for its first season, topping the Apple Podcasts chart. The second season will premiere on October 31st, while an original novel, Limetown: The Prequel to the #1 Podcast, is set for publication in November.
