Jim Broadbent to star in The Sense of an Ending

May 13, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Oscar winner Jim Broadbent (Cloud Atlas, Iris) is set to star in the adaptation of the Booker Prize-winning novel The Sense of the Ending by Julian Barnes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Broadbent will star in the film for director Ritesh Batra, who helmed the critically-acclaimed drama The Lunchbox. FilmNation is set to distribute, as well as co-finance the project with BBC Films. Here’s the official synopsis:

The Sense of an Ending is narrated by a retired man named Tony Webster, who recalls how he and his clique met Adrian Finn at school and vowed to remain friends for life. When the past catches up with Tony, he reflects on the paths he and his friends have taken.
