John Cena’s Peacemaker joins the new DCU with season 2 trailer

May 9, 2025 by Gary Collinson

Although the DC cinematic universe is starting afresh with James Gunn’s Superman, some remnants/variants of the old DC Extended Universe will be carrying over into this retooled DC Universe – not least John Cena’s Peacemaker, who made his debut in the Gunn-directed The Suicide Squad before spinning off into his own hit series on Max.

Well, the second season is set to follow hot on the heels of Gunn’s Superman with an August premiere, and the first season two trailer has been released today, which you can find below…

Season two sees John Cena’s Christopher Smith joined in the new DCU by fellow Peacemaker co-stars Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, Steve Agee as John Economos, Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith/White Dragon, and Nhut Le as Judomaster.

The cast also includes Superman stars Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., and – as you’ll see in the trailer – Isabela Merced as Supergirl, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner and Sean Gunn as Maxwell Lord – along with new additions Tim Meadows (SNL) as Langston Fleury, Sol Rodriguez (Star Trek: Picard) as Sasha Bordeaux,  and David Denman (The Office) in an undisclosed role.

Peacemaker season 2 will premiere on Max on August 21st.
