Journey through Hell with horror deckbuilder Inferius

November 21, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Gamers who enjoy deckbuilding games may be interested in Lucid Dreams’ horror, first-person roguelike deckbuilder Inferius, which will be coming to Steam later next year.  Inspired by the world of Dante’s Inferno, Inferius will take players through the nine levels of Hell.  This game with its disturbing deities and inhabitants can be supported by an upcoming Kickstarter.

Inferius will take players on a nightmarish journey through the nine levels of Hell – Limbo, Lust, Gluttony, Greed, Anger, Heresy, Violence, Fraud and Treachery, with each filled with twisted and hideous creatures and ruled by merciless deities.  With just a lantern and Major Arcana Tarot cards to guide their path, players will need to confront Hell’s denizens, retrieve the hearts of each circle and unlock the gate to freedom, or face eternal damnation.

Each immersive level and the eldritch creatures that call it home will challenge players both mentally and strategically and players will need to wisely use the skills and resources available to them, from using stealth to mastering their resource management skills. New powers can be unlocked by gathering Hell’s dwindling soul essences.

Inferius features:

  • First-person Stealth: Avoid the unsettling creatures hunting for your soul.
  • Strategic Deckbuilding: Use the power of the Major Arcana Tarot Cards and increase their strength as you descend.
  • Skill Trait Upgrades: Try the underworld’s blackmarket and have the chance to gain new strengths.
  • Resource Management: Harness the world’s dwindling soul essences to solve challenges within each level.

If you want to support Inferius on the Kickstarter then click here, otherwise look out for more news coming in the future.
