Kaley Cuoco set for Peacock’s comedic thriller Based on a True Story

August 12, 2022 by Gary Collinson

Peacock has announced that The Big Bang Theory and The Flight Attendant star Kaley Cuoco is set to lead the cast of Based on a True Story, a dark comedic thriller from Emmy-nominated writer and executive producer Craig Rosenberg (The Boys, Lost, Preacher).

Inspired “by a bizarre true event”, the series tells the story of “a realtor, a plumber and a former tennis star whose lives unexpectedly collide, exposing America’s obsession with true crime, murder and the slow close toilet seat.”

Cuoco is set to portray a married woman called Ava Bartlett, although further specifics are being kept under wraps.

Despite Cuoco’s casting in the new series – and the ongoing shake-up at Warner Bros. Discovery and HBO Max – it is being reported that a third season of The Flight Attendant is “likely” (as is a fourth season of the DC animated series Harley Quinn) and that her deal with Peacock has provisions in place should those also move ahead.
