Kevin Smith announces Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Clerks 3 is dead

February 10, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Kevin Smith has had a little trouble with his recent efforts to return to the View Askewniverse. His planned third Clerks movie stalled as he moved his attention to a Mallrats sequel, only to have to turn that into a potential TV series due to rights issues. And now the filmmaker and podcaster has revealed that Clerks 3 is officially dead, but instead he’s turned his attention to another project in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Here’s the full story from Smith himself…

With Smith planning to go into production in the summer (assuming the project comes together of course), it remains to be seen where Moose Jaws – the third instalment of Smith’s True North Trilogy after Tusk and Yoga Hosers – fits into his schedule. Originally he intended on shooting the film last year, with Jay and Silent Bob set to make an appearance, but it seems that project has now been put on hold in favour of Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.

Are you excited about a return to the View Askeniverse? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
