Kevin Smith thinks Deadpool may be the greatest movie ever made

January 4, 2016 by admin

Writer and director Kevin Smith has been very outspoken about film in recent years, and many folks in the geek culture landscape take him at his word. He was very vocal about his love for Star Wars: The Force Awakens prior to the film being released, and he thinks Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will make over $2 billion when it’s released this year. Now, he’s turned his attention to the upcoming comic book movie Deadpool, which he thinks will be rather good.

“It’s time to fucking letup on Ryan Reynolds for Green Lantern because he’s fucking over-delivered on this Deadpool film,” Smith said on his Fatman on Batman podcast. “I haven’t even seen it and based on the trailers alone, I’m like, ‘This may be the greatest motion-picture ever made.’ It’s crazy! The tone is pitch perfect! He is perfectly cast! The costume looks fucking great! Colossus is in it!”

Are you as excited for Deadpool as Kevin Smith is?

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
