Kirsten Dunst joins Sydney Sweeney for The Housemaid’s Secret

March 24, 2026 by Ricky Church

Sydney Sweeney has found her new costar for the upcoming sequel to The Housemaid. Per Deadline, Kirsten Dunst (Roffman) has joined The Housemaid’s Secret alongside the returning Sweeney.

The Housemaid’s Secret sees Millie (Sweeney) return, taking a job keeping house for a woman she’s never allowed to see — only to discover the truth behind the locked door that threatens to expose secrets far darker than her own.

Paul Feig will direct from a script by Rebecca Sonnenshine, both returning from the first film. Sweeney and Dunst will also be joined by Michele Morrone, reprising his role as gardener and confidante Enzo.

“It is a privilege to bring The Housemaid’s next chapter to the screen with Kirsten Dunst. She is an icon. Her career reflects extraordinary range and fearlessness,” said Erin Westerman, president, Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. “Opposite the ever-magnetic Sydney Sweeney, she will be an electrifying force in a world where nothing is ever quite as it seems.”

The Housemaid novel and its sequels were written by Freida McFadden. The Housemaid’s Secret will be produced by Todd Lieberman for Hidden Pictures with Feig and Laura Fischer producing for their company Pretty Dangerous Pictures. Sweeney will also produce through Fifty-Fifty Films.
