Lady Gaga joins Jenna Ortega in Wednesday Season 2

November 13, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Lady Gaga certainly knows spooky, and she’s putting that to the test with her latest acting role.

In a match made in goth pop heaven, Gaga has been tapped for the second season of Tim Burton’s Wednesday adaptation at Netflix. She’ll appear in a small role, but the crew hoped to grab her for a bigger gig.

Little is known about her role or how this came about, but EW notes, “The singer-actress is currently filming the program in Europe.”

Some may find the team-up of Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday and Lady Gaga random. Still, many remember that Gaga’s 2011 album track Born This Way, Bloody Mary, went viral after mashups of Wednesday’s dancing with the song.

This all goes perfectly with Ortega’s plan for Gaga, dating back to comments she made even mapping out a story. “I’m sure Netflix would love that,” Ortega told Variety in 2023. “I think Mrs. Thornhill and Wednesday had this weird mentor relationship or kind of understood each other in a certain way, so if Lady Gaga were to be a part, I think it would have to be two monsters that understand each other.”

The cast of Wednesday includes Jenna Ortega, Steve Buscemi, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Joanna Lumley, Christopher Lloyd, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Fred Armisen, Thandiwe Newton, Victor Dorobantu, Billie Piper, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, Isaac Ordonez, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, Noah Taylor, Frances O’Connor, Joonas Suotamo, Jamie McShane, and more.
