Let’s talk murder with the Only Murders in the Building season 5 trailer

August 12, 2025 by Ricky Church

The fifth season of Only Murders in the Building has announced through its new trailer a September 9th return for the hit comedy mystery series.

Season five will follow the trio of Charles, Oliver and Mabel investigating the death of Lester, the Arconia’s beloved and loyal doorman. Their investigation brings them into contact with the elements of the mob as well as New York City’s new high society with Bobby Cannavale, Christoph Waltz, Logan Lerman, Renée Zellweger and Téa Leoni among the many newcomers and suspects to the latest season. Watch the trailer below…

After their beloved doorman, Lester, dies under suspicious circumstances, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel refuse to believe it was an accident. Their investigation plunges them into the shadowy corners of New York and beyond – where the trio uncovers a dangerous web of secrets connecting powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters, and the mysterious residents of the Arconia. The trio discovers a deeper divide between their storied city they thought they knew and the new New York evolving around them – one where the old mob fights to hold on as newer, even more dangerous players emerge.

Only Murders in the Building stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Michael Cyril Creighton, Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind and Nathan Lane with newcomers Bobby Cannavale, Beanie Feldstein, Jermaine Fowler, Keegan-Michael Key, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz and Téa Leoni.

Only Murders in the Building Season 5 will premiere on September 9th.
