Pop quiz, hotshot… You’ve got the kids out for a drive and a mystery caller tells you there’s a bomb under their seat. What do you do? What do you do? That’s the question facing Liam Neeson in the trailer for the upcoming action thriller Retribution from Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions.
Directed by Nimrod Antal (Predators), the film is a remake of the 2015 Spanish crime thriller El Desconocido, and stars Neeson as a man forced to complete a series of increasingly dangerous tasks by a mysterious caller in order to save his kids who are trapped in the backseat of his car with bombs set to explode if they attempt to leave. When a mysterious caller puts a bomb under his car seat, Matt Turner (Liam Neeson) begins a high-speed chase across the city to complete a specific series of tasks. With his kids trapped in the back seat and a bomb that will explode if they get out of the car, a normal commute becomes a twisted game of life or death as Matt follows the stranger’s increasingly dangerous instructions in a race against time to save his family.
Joining Liam Neeson in the cast are Noma Dumezweni, Jack Champion, Lilly Aspell, Embeth Davidtz and Matthew Modine.
Retribution arrives in cinemas on August 25th.
