Logan officially rated R for strong brutal violence, language and brief nudity

January 23, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Last year it was revealed that Hugh Jackman’s final outing as Wolverine would be following in the footsteps of Deadpool by shooting for an R-rating, and now director James Mangold has announced that Logan has officially received that rating, for “strong brutal violence and language throughout, and for brief nudity.”

Official: Please be advised that LOGAN has been rated R for “strong brutal violence and language throughout, and for brief nudity.”

— Mangold (@mang0ld) January 23, 2017

Mangold also went on to state that, as with Deadpool, the film has been classified as a 15 here in the UK by the BBFC.

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

Logan is being helmed by The Wolverine director James Mangold and will see Hugh Jackman joined in the cast by Patrick Stewart as Professor X, along with new additions Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Elizabeth Rodriguez and Elise Neal. It is set for release on March 1st in the UK and March 3rd in North America.
