Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad join zombie rom-com Little Monsters

November 2, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Variety is reporting that Lupita Nyong’o and Josh Gad have signed on to star in the Australian zom-rom-com Little Monsters, where they will appear alongside Alexander England (Alien: Covenant).

The film sees England as “a washed-up musician, Dave, who goes on his nephew’s school trip as he has a crush on the teacher, Miss Caroline (Nyong’o). Dave’s intentions are complicated by the presence of the world-famous kids show personality, Teddy McGiggle (Gad), who also has eyes for Miss Caroline. A sudden zombie outbreak then throws the trip into chaos.”

Little Monsters is written and directed by Abe Forsythe (Down Under) and filming is now underway in Sydney, with Snoot Entertainment and Made Up Stories producing.

“Abe is a brilliant filmmaker, and I can’t wait for audiences to fall in love with this original film that is equal parts hilarious, heartwarming and terrifying,” said Made Up Stories’ Bruna Papandrea. “We have been longtime fans of Lupita’s and Josh’s extraordinary work, and we are thrilled that they have come on board alongside Alex.”

Josh Gad will next be seen in Kenneth Branagh’s Agatha Christie adaptation Murder On the Orient Express, while Nyong’o returns as Maz Kanata in December’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
