M. Night Shyamalan teams with Josh Hartnett in Trap trailer

April 18, 2024 by EJ Moreno

Brace yourself for a new M. Night Shyamalan experience. Trap is the iconic filmmaker’s latest, and he looks to be exploring the darkness within the human mind once again. Warner Bros. Pictures presents M. Night Shyamalan’s Trap, featuring performances by rising music star Saleka Shyamalan.

We follow a father, played by Josh Hartnett, who takes his daughter to a Lady Raven (Saleka Shyamalan) concert, only to find out something more sinister is happening at the venue. With Hartnett’s character exploring and inquiring about all the surveillance and police he’s seeing, the entire concert is an orchestrated effort from federal police to catch a wanted killer. Known as The Bucher, Hartnett may be closer to this case than expected, with the trailer teasing one sinister twist heading our way.

This film is a first-time collaboration between M. Night Shyamalan and Hartnett, with the actor in the middle of a mainstream comeback following his knockout role in last year’s Oppenheimer. With a centerpiece role in a thriller like this, we could see that comeback kick into overdrive.

The cast of Trap will also include Hayley Mills, Marnie McPhail, and Vanessa Smythe. Check out the trailer below…

Trip will be distributed worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, in theaters only nationwide on August 9, 2024 and internationally beginning on 1 August, 2024.
