Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg’s Mile 22 getting a sequel, TV series and VR experience

February 15, 2018 by Gary Collinson

STX Films has announced that the upcoming Mile 22 from director Peter Berg and star Mark Wahlberg is set to receive a sequel, a scripted TV series, and a VR experience.

The film, the fourth collaboration between Berg and Wahlberg after Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon and Patriots Day, sees Wahlberg as “an elite American intelligence officer who, aided by a top-secret tactical command unit, tries to smuggle a mysterious police officer with sensitive information out of a foreign country.”

Joining Wahlberg in the cast of Mile 22 are John Malkovich (Deep Water Horizon), Lauren Cohan (The Walking Dead), Iko Uwais (The Raid) and Ronda Rousey (Furious 7). The film is expected to wrap principal photography this week ahead of a July 20th release in North America.
