Marvel Television’s The Defenders panel is currently taking place in Hall H of the San Diego Comic-Con, during which we’ve already had two big announcements, with confirmation that both Daredevil and Iron Fist have officially been renewed for a third and second season respectively.
As part of the announcement, it was also revealed that Simone Missick will reprise the role of Misty Knight for a role in the second season of Iron Fist.
UPDATE: THR is reporting that Iron Fist will have a change of showrunners for its second season, with Raven Metzner (Sleepy Hollow) replacing the outgoing Scott Buck. Metzner does have previous Marvel experience, having penned the script for 2005’s Elektra.
It’s certainly an exciting time for Netflix’s Marvel universe – The Defenders is set for release in August, followed by The Punisher later in the year, while production is currently underway on the second season of both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.
