Marvel confirms Moon Knight will return, just not with a second season

February 24, 2025 by Matt Rodgers

There’s good news and bad news for fans of one of Marvel Television’s best small-screen outings, Moon Knight, with the news that the character is set to return to the MCU in the future, but sadly it won’t be in a standalone sophomore season for the character.

The perhaps unsurprising news came as Marvel Television head Brad Winderbaum was speaking with ComicBook.com about Daredevil: Born Again‘s impending release, and whether they had any further plans for Moon Knight.

“So I think Marvel Television has happened in waves, and I think Moon Knight happened in a wave of shows that were going to establish characters that would tie-in to the future,” he continued “And moving forward our priorities have shifted. We’re making shows as shows that can exist as annual releases, more like television. I would love to see a Moon Knight Season 2, but there are plans for Moon Knight down the road.”

Released in 2022 to largely positive reviews, the Oscar Isaac-led show told the story of Steven Grant, a mild-mannered gift-shop employee who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life, who soon discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. The character was last seen in an episode of third and final season of Marvel’s What If…?

Directed by Mohamed Diab, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, Moon Knight also starred Ethan Hawke as Arthur Harrow, Gaspard Ulliel as Midnight Man, Lucy Thackeray as Donna, and May Calamawy as Layla.

Let us know if you’re disappointed we definitely won’t be getting a second season of Moon Knight by heading to our social channels @FlickeringMyth…
