Marvel Studios producer nearly vetoed Captain Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame look

June 13, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Victoria Alonso, the EVP of production for Marvel Studios, almost vetoed Captain Marvel’s new look for Avengers: Endgame.

Carol Danvers didn’t take very long to make her debut in an Avengers movie after her first appearance, therefore not giving audiences too long to become acquainted with her and her look.

This was a concern of Marvel Studios EVP Victoria Alonso, who was worried that changing her look for Endgame by giving her a new shorter haircut might be confusing so soon after introducing the character. Speaking to IGN, she said:

“That haircut was a conversation. And I was against it for a while because I was afraid that people had just met her and had just realized who she was and then we were changing her hair. And I thought, is it too soon? But clearly, it wasn’t.”

It certainly hasn’t proven to be a problem with audiences on the whole, especially due to her very distinctive outfit and powers. What did you make of Captain Marvel’s new look? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @FlickeringMyth…
