June 15, 2022 by Liam Waddington

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has added yet another name to its growing cast as Nico Santos is the latest to join James Gunn’s final instalment in the trilogy.

Per Deadline, Santos, who is perhaps best known for his roles in Crazy Rich Asians as Oliver T’sien and NBC’s Superstore series as Mateo Liwanag, is set tofeature in the cast in a currently undisclosed role.

Although very little is known about the plot at this time, we do know Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 – which wrapped filming in May – will be the third and final instalment in Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and will conclude the main storyline of Star-Lord, Gamora, Nebula, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Mantis. It will also be preceded by The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, a Disney+ project which shot back-to-back with Vol. 3 and is set to air on the streamer this December.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will see the return of Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Sylvester Stallone (Stakar Ogord) and Elizabeth Debecki (Ayesha), alongside newcomers Will Poulter (Dopesick) as Adam Warlock, Chukwudi Iwuji (Peacemaker) as the High Evolutionary, Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) as Cosmo the Spacedog, and Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad) and Nico Santos (Crazy Rich Asians) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set for release on May 5th 2023.
