Matt Reeves teases snowy Batmobile chase for The Batman Part II

May 8, 2026 by Ricky Church

Director Matt Reeves is getting ready to head back to Gotham City for The Batman Part II and has now teased fans with a Batmobile chase on Gotham’s snowy streets.

Reeves went on X, formerly Twitter, and shared images of a test run they were performing with the Batmobile driving through falling snow. This is the first confirmation The Batman Part II will take place during the winter, furthering some speculation Mr. Freeze may be introduced in the anticipated sequel.

Not much is known about the sequel as Reeves and writer Mattson Tomlin have been keeping details incredibly close to the chest, but it will pick up on the events seen not only in the first film but also of the HBO series The Penguin which saw Colin Fareell’s Oz Cobb/The Penguin take advantage of Gotham’s power vacuum in the criminal underworld to place himself in the top spot. The wintery setting brings up several questions on who Batman will face in the next installment.

The Batman Part II will see Robert Pattinson return to his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Colin Farrell as The Penguin and Barry Keoghan as The Joker. Newcomers to the sequel include Sebastian Stan and Scarlet Johansson as Harvey Dent and his wife Gilda Dent with Game of Thrones veteran Charles Dance in an unknown role that is believed to be Harvey Dent’s father.

With production now underway, The Batman Part II will roll into theatres on October 1st, 2027.
