Megan Fox only recently watched Jonah Hex, and it changed her life

July 10, 2021 by Gary Collinson

After taking a break from the big screen for a few years following the two live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, Megan Fox is currently in the midst of a comeback of sorts, with recent releases such as the comedy Think Like a Dog, action film Rogue and the new thriller Till Death.

During a promotional interview for the latter, the former Transformers actress has revealed to The Washington Post that she only recently braved the 2010 DC movie Jonah Hex for the very first time, and that she actually found it to be a “decent” film, stating that: “While I shouldn’t have been nominated for an Oscar for it, I’m definitely not bad in it.”

Elaborating further to InStyle, Fox went on to say that watching the film for the first time actually led to an epiphany which has since changed her life for the better:

“I had never even watched it because the other actors told me not to,” said Fox of the film, which saw her starring alongside future Cable and Thanos, Josh Brolin. “I mean, I got crucified for that movie, just brutalized in the reviews, but something came over me, and I said, ‘Fuckk it, I’m going to be brave and watch it.’ ”

“I had this incredible breakthrough, and I realized that I had been living in a self-imposed prison for so long because I let other people tell me who I was or what I wasn’t,” she continued. “I hid because I was hurt. That night, I stayed up and promised myself that I would never live one more day of my life from fear. I came home, and my whole life changed. I got a divorce and I started working more and doing more things. I ended up meeting [boyfriend Colson Baker], and then literally everything exploded from there.”

Meanwhile, Fox also went on to throw her hat in the ring for another comic book movie role, adding: “I should probably start manifesting. I won’t lie, I do want to find a Marvel or a DC character that I’ve always wanted to play, and do one of those.”

Fox can currently be seen in the horror-thriller Till Death [read our review here], while next up for the actress is the crime thriller Midnight in the Switchgrass which sees her starring alongside Bruce Willis, Lukas Haas, Caitlin Carmichael, Sistine Stallone and Colson Baker [watch the trailer here].
